Operation Snap - Road Safety

Road Safety and Traffic Offences are a large part of Policing within West Mercia and Roads Policing is a 24 hour 7 days a week commitment across the force. West Mercia Police and local teams carry out a number of Traffic related operations with various concerns being focused on, but we can’t be everywhere at once and you might be able to help.

With technological advancements, we see’s most vehicles on our roads fitted with a Dashcam, which give drivers an opportunity to collect independent evidence of events out on our roads.

Operation Snap provides the public of West Mercia a platform for reporting certain types of traffic offences to West Mercia Police.

Members of the public can report and submit digital footage showing potential traffic offences via a secure online form. These offences can range from driving dangerously or carelessly, to overtaking on solid white lines, using a mobile phone while driving, ignoring traffic lights, or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.
